    Characters: Holmes, Watson, Mrs. Hudson
    Fandom: ACD Sherlock Holmes
    Rating: General Audiences
    Word Count: 184

In the early morning, Holmes and I sat to breakfast. A rare occasion, as normally Holmes would be out or still sleeping at this time. I revelled in a domestic paradise.

"Holmes, I was just pondering - what is your favourite kind of tea?"

He looked up from his newspaper, then at the tea sitting in front of him. It was earl grey, the kind he drank most often. Despite the same going for me, I couldn't call it my favourite.

"I'll tell you his favourite," said Mrs. Hudson, entering with a smug smile. Both Holmes and I looked at her in surprise. "Whenever Mr. Holmes gets in one of his moods, I fetch him the same blend my mother used to give me. You drink it faster than any other I make for you. I don't suppose you've paid much attention to the tea you've had from me." The words were scolding, but she said them with a teasing, affectionate air.

"Well, thank you, Mrs. Hudson," said Holmes with no small degree of timidity.

She gave us a smile, and wafted out the room.
